A wee 1100 mile trip around scotland

Just back from a week touring Scotland - The weather on Sunday was perfect leaving Perthshire and heading for Tarbert and the Mull of Kintyre, blue skies and clear air. The trip to the Mull is by way of a single track road for the last 10 miles described as 'one of the most exciting roads in the UK' well if you had a landie !
Our stay at the Stonefield Castle Hotel was fantastic a Victorian Manor House set in 60 Acres of Loch Fyne shore.
From Tarbert we headed up the coast through Oban and up to Skye, the roads on Skye have suffered badly from the cold weather where another landie would have been desired.......truly....
A stop at the Stein Inn was an enjoyable one.
From Skye we decided to visit Applecross via the Bealach Nam Bo at 2000" the highest pass in the UK then on up through the peaks of Torridon, Kinlochewe to Dingwall, a road from a previous Highlander trip and now complete in all its smooooth glory which made cruising at the legal limit very enjoyable.
The Tulloch Castle Hotel setting was not great but the original castle dates from the 15th Century and is haunted!! All the staff were fab too.
From Dingwall it was a bit cloudy but we headed for Durness and stopped over at Kylesku, the roads were again enjoyable.
I cannot recommend the Kylesku Hotel enough and its new owners are certainly making their mark.
The last day was from Kylesku to Aviemore via Gairloch a wee 80 mile detour around the coast but magical.
The good thing about the the roads midweek at this time of year is that they are EMPTY woo hoo.
The Z4 performed well and returned 32mpg which is pretty good considering that about 200 miles of the trip was on steep and twisty single track roads.
