Update from Dario
Update from Dario
Come on Dario what are you up to these days
Re: Update from Dario
OK, OK
here we go. the business is now 5 month old.
we are doing ok, but lots of seed planting going on this year with a new business.
We have made some major in roads to track days, but its a little flat with some track day companies. the best place by far to sell our service is a club type venues.
Ferrari owners club has been very good for us as has the Porsche owners club. we did a special day for Brands Hatch Morgan where we did 8 hire (good day).
as of early this week we have been confirmed to supply (rental) 15 off 2 camera system to an experience company at the Prodrive Track in Warwickshire. 3 dates are already confirmed. Hopefully this will continue as its the sort of business you can hang your hat on. I'm looking forward to seeing what a Koenigsegg CCX looks and feels like. the other stuff the have is ok, but not in that league! (cars are:- Murcielago x 1 Gallardo Spyder x 3, Ferrari F360 x3, Audi R8 x 2, Porsche 996 Turbo x 2, Aston Martin DB9 x 1, Aston Martin V8 Vantage x 1, Ariel Aton x 1 and a Jaguar JP1.
I think that the best marketplace for this product will ultimately be corporates, car, van and truck manufacturers for launches and experience days etc as i appear to be operating in a niche.
I did have a recent success when i was supporting 2 drivers in the fun cup series. 2 drivers in one car who had never qualified in pole or won a race hired my systems and me for practice and qualifying. I analyzed each of their performances with both drivers and and as each session went on we were able to find out where each driver was quicker, get each driver to emulate each other best sections and eventually. they qualified in pole position. There after they also won the race with a field of >50 cars.
Just a few weeks agi i was asked to go out to the Ascari Race Resort near Malaga to supply some equipment and install it to a Noble M600 (launch demo) Ferrari F430 and a Caterham R500. it was a good opportunity to see how the other half live.
Track fees are 24,000 euros per day and if you want an annual membership fee of £100,000 Euros, although for this you can keep your car(s) at their garage. Whilst there i was allowed to go have a look at the production facility for the Ascari super-cars PeteH would have like it as there was CF everywhere!).
Day membership can be had for 12,000 euros for 12 days but not exclusive.
I have some pictures which i will post up.
We will be looking to see if we can work at this and other warm circuits this winter as i'm probably not going to be doming much in the way of business if it pisses down in the autumn or winter! I quite like the prospect of this.
I still have my Radical which i have put up for sale, but if it don't sell I'll start using it again.
The only subject left is the Tribunal case which is plodding its way forward. The house hold insurance has upped the amount that they are prepared to fund so thats excellent. it certainly allows me to exact my revenge on those persons who wronged me.
Ok, thats me done. I'll find some nice videos and piccies and post them up.

oops, forgot to say that i have been involved with the new Track Driver Magazine providing them with in car video and data for their road test / track test reports. Thats been fun to meet with John Hayman the editor (nice chap and an excellent piss taker to boot)

Life is a one way journey with no refunds available. Live it now!

Re: Update from Dario
All good stuff Dario.
If it does quieten down over winter, we might get to see something of you. We will have to organise a winter warmer of some description.

All sounds very interesting and I hope things keep ticking over during the winter.
