Winter Tyres vs All season vs Summer Tyres

Post by PeteH »

Ever wondered just how different the various tyres compare?

Have a look at this it proves just how crap our 'normal' tyres are in this weather!

I just bought a set of alloys for the X5, and a set of winter tyres for the X5. Should be delived today.

Set of alloys - £100, with very good spare summer tyres on them the same make / size as my current X5 summer tyres. Not a bad deal at all.

I'm thinking of doing this. I think all this global warming is going to lead to a lot more snow and ice over the coming years. :cyclops2

I was thinking about getting some of these for myself and my mother - her 1er was stuck on the slightest incline for a week

Anyone used them?

However - the LSD on the m has been so much more productive that the old z4 3.0 - either that or it's different snow/ice on the road.

I had a look at these myself, and approached the manufacturer in Scandinavia to become a dealer for the product. They were polite in saying no, they already had a successful dealer in the UK. Bugger!

I try to leave my car in the carpark rather than take it on the ice-rink with me.

The X-Trail has a pair of Cooper Weather Masters on the front - that would take studs if needed.

I cannot see that being the case - they have stupid amounts of traction and grip
