BMW (all models) wheel alignment specialist

Post by pangster »

I've recently had a full suspension overhaul (basically anything that could have been replaced was replaced!!):

* FK Silverline Coilover Plus suspension
* E-Tech front strut brace
* Meyle control arms with Meyle heavy duty (HD) ball joints
* Pillowball camber adjustable top mounts (front)
* BMW OEM M3 strut reinforcement plates (front)
* BMW OEM shock mount gaskets (front)
* Meyle heavy duty (HD) top mounts (rear)
* BMW OEM shock reinforcement plates (rear)
* BMW OEM shock mount gaskets (rear)
* Full Powerflex polybush kit (front and rear)
* New sway bar/drop links (front and rear)
* New tie rod assembly (Lemforder - both sides!)

I decided that there was no point in shelling out for all these new shiny parts without having the car set up properly. To that end I quickly started searching for a decent specialist local to me - Google kept on throwing up the same recommendation time and time again (from the Scooby, RSOC and Type-R forums) - ProGrip in Falkirk.

Pro Grip is a one man operation and is ran by a guy called John. John uses a Hunter DSP 600 and can do KDS etc. He'll spend time chatting to you and talking you through what he's doing as he goes about doing it and will make sure you're happy with the set up. Unfortunately the first time I went to get my suspension set up - we had issues with my tie rods. So I ordered some new ones and returned today. John fitted them for me and then completed a full alignment. The car has never felt as good as it does now!! - it feels planted at speed and the steering is very direct with good feedback! The bonus was he only charged me labour for fitting the parts today and completed the second alignment FOC!! - that's what I call good customer service! :thumbsup

ProGrip wasn't the nearest place to me (it's about c35 miles each way down the motorway) - but given the recommendations he received I thought it was worth the trip and I've not been disappointed!! I thought it was worth a mention on here as it's pretty handy for anyone around the central belt of Scotland.

His contact details are below (although it's best to email as he'll be able to get back to you at his leisure then instead of running back and forward):
