Holidays
Re: Holidays
My holiday was the weekend I had down in Warwick for the BMWCC National Show.
Saturday I met up with Phil & Marise to go on the Z Register meet-up/run - not a bad turnout 18 cars
Not sure where we went, but started at Gaydon, tootled around some country lanes, went up Fish Hill, then finished up for Lunch at The Pheasant - Charlecote
It was good to catch up with everyone again

Unfortunately, some of the roads were extremely muddy and the car got filthy, so Saturday afternnon I tried to find a Jet Wash to clean the car down.
I couldn't find one and had to wash the car in the hotel car park. Whilst washing the car, there was a torrential downpour, with thunder and lightning (see photo below, giving an idea of how heavy it was)

Re: Holidays
Sunday was the BMWCC National Show.
Along with my mates from the Scottish Region, we got down to Gaydon for 7:30 am to help marshal - give me a yellow vest and I turn into a right Hitler, but there again you're dealing BMW drivers
It was a really good show with 100's of BMWs on show
Well done to Phil for organizing the Z Register display - a good mix of approx 20 cars.
There was also a special display of 55 Z3M coupes.
Here are a few of my photos of the day ...

Yes it really is this colour

Although a Scottish bias here are a few more photos

Re: Holidays
Well, no car holidays for me this year, but we've had a few scenic ones in Scotland. Here's a few 'boring' snaps for you!

Re: Holidays
Hi Neil
Great photos and the drive went round in a big circle and we ended up very close to the start

Re: Holidays
Got up early doors on Sunday 15th Aug and drove to Folkestone with Mrs Z head. Got train sous la manche to other side of road for driving. Carried on to Valenciennes and hotel overnight. Monday drive on to Strasbourg, bit wet but very picturesque. Tuesday, onwards to Wilderswil (near Interlaken) over Gotthard Pass, stayed there until Thursday doing touristy things like driving round lakes and looking at waterfalls and caves. (grindelwald etc). Thursday drove to Chur, oldest city in Switzerland and very nice too except for extensive road works. Friday drive Passo del Stelvio (a bit overrated in my opinion but had it just about to ourselves so tried to do it justice) to Verona, watched Carmen at Arena on Saturday night (didn't realise she was such a tart!) Sunday just bummed around Verona - flippin hot! Monday took train to Venice - very cultural. Tuesday, short hop to Brescia - nice large old town. Wednesday saw us do Gotthard and Sussten passes and another Furken pass whose name escapes me, ending up back in Strasbourg but a much sunnier experience than last week. On to Lille on Thursday and train sous la manche on Friday. 2600 lovely miles in 12 days. Car behaved faultlessly although I DID take the precaution of having it serviced before we went and also had four new Falken 452's fitted aswell. saw a few Zeds, waved at them all, got precious little waves back. EXCEPT for a brit reg ****444, silver Z4. They were going our way for a while from the Swiss boarder but didn't see them again. Now back to earth with a bump and in work today (Sunday) and again tomorrow (Bank Hol Monday). Still, I suppose you have to pay for your pleasures.
