Zeds' 'first' service

Post by ZEDIBEE »

Well thats two years we have had this, our second Z4, and its off to the local stealer today for its Inspection 1 Service, MOT and Brake Fluid change.

Hope all is well with the wee 5 year old with only 15000 miles (7000 wonderfull miles with us  )

Checked the service book and looks like it should have had the Brake Fluid done last year when 4 years old (every 2 years)

Read an interesting article on Brake Fluid and BMW's in particular which read this 'should' be done annually, however, when BMW introduced the 'FREE' service plans this changed to every 2 years !

Well thats a relief, passed MOT, no additional work for Service, :thumbr but was told the brake fluid should have been changed last year.

No obvious problems with corosion on the calipers so all OK.

Just the bill to pay now

its nice when you still hold the Z4 as a thing of fun!

I had mine out the other day....... the car that is and you just fall in love all over again.

although i was offered a 2009 Z4 3.0 for £19,995. i was nearly down the dealers that evening to put down a deposit....... but it was an E85 just like mine dammit, i got all hot under the collar when i thought it was the new version :bolt it wasn't! :king

Hey Dario I know what you mean, after not getting out in it much the last few months I was thinking why have it ? But the Service chap that brought it back stated that it was a good example of a 'Classic' car..................sooooo.............will just hang on to it for a wee while yet

£19 995 for a 'new' style 3.0 z4 would have been a saving of £10K.....I would have been racing you to the stealer

Do you fancy the 'new' style...bit of a different machine.....you must be getting older :bolt

Hey PVR met to ask if you ever got the work with Harley D ?

Nope, got beaten at the end. Big nuisance as I had to write the full solution proposal which took days ...

Jees its been February since logging into the forum....

Paul yep quoting for projects is time consuming especially when trying to be competative....lots of work for a 'balanced' profit.

You know..arriving on a Harley might have swung it :bolt
